Halal Certification of Mint Green & Honey Flavor at PT. Sensient Technologies Indonesia

Abstract

The Enrichment Program in the form of Industrial Internship was conducted in PT. Sensient Technologies Indonesia in Jakarta. During the internship at PT. Sensient Technologies Indonesia, the author obtained direct experience in two major departments which are the supply Chain and regulations department. The main focus in the Supply Chain department involved managing logistics, ensuring efficient delivery of raw materials, and maintaining smooth operations to meet customer demands. In the Regulations department, the author was engaged in supporting halal certification processes and understanding compliance with Indonesian food safety and product regulations. The author's internship objectives included learning about food regulations, halal standards, and logistics management, which were achieved through active participation in real-world tasks and projects. One of the notable outcomes was assisting customers by providing regulatory documentation, such as halal certificates, and ensuring that the company’s raw materials met regulatory requirements. Since PT. Sensient Technologies Indonesia operates as a business-to-business (B2B) entity that supplies raw materials, there was no need for the company to obtain final product certifications, as these were managed by the customers producing the end products. This internship provided valuable insights into regulatory and logistical operations within a global company, sharpening the author’s professional skills and understanding of work-life dynamics in the corporate sector. It emphasized the importance of teamwork, adaptability, and the application of knowledge to solve industry-specific challenges.
