Abstract: The tourism industry is a thriving and diverse field that comprises many of the different activities and services corresponding to leisure, business, and other activities. The tourism industry has significantly contributed to employment growth, infrastructure development, and cultural exchange in the global economy (Laylo, 2020). Orchardz Hotel Industri is a 4-star hotel that heavily emphasizes affordability. Situated in Central Jakarta, Orchardz Hotel Industri is strategically located near the heart of Jakarta, giving us the advantage of being located nearby famous local attractions such as the Jakarta International Expo, Old Batavia, Ancol Theme Park, and Mangga Dua Shopping Complex (Traveloka, 2024). From my internship experience at Hotel Orchardz Industri, the HR department has shown innovative practices used within the HR landscape. From implementing cost-effective recruitment to fostering employee well-being initiatives, For the whole of the internship (6 months), the author had the opportunity to significantly contribute to the Human Resources department. The author was primarily responsible for the careful supervision of both other interns and part-time workers. The overall experience of being an intern at Hotel Orchardz Industri was rather interesting. Various valuable skills that were gained through the internship were valuable. From learning how to interview candidates to keeping grooming standards and managing employee payments, Working as HR at Orchardz Industri has been an interesting experience; it has been both rewarding and challenging at the same time. Moreover, through witnessing firsthand the HR contribution towards creating a safe and inclusive working environment, it has made the author believe that a positive working environment can have a positive impact on organizational success.
