dc.description.abstractPancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a malignant and extremely aggressive cancer, proven by its high mortality rate and extremely low survival rate of its patients. This phenomenon happens due to either late diagnosis or the lack of treatment regimen for the patients. Genomic instability is an important cancer hallmark, since it can be said as the initiator of most other hallmarks and thus, may support both tumorigenesis and its progression to malignancy. This fact is propelled through in silico analysis, that shows involvement of Gene X in DNA repair and replication mechanisms. The importance of this Gene X is further emphasized by its significant elevation in oncogenic expression compared to the normal expression. Upon in vitro knockdown study, it was henceforth proven that the doubling time of the knockdown cell lines are significantly decreased compared to the negative control.
