dc.description.abstractGlobally, colorectal cancer remains the third most common cancer to be diagnosed. Nonetheless, there are current therapies for colorectal cancer, including radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and surgery. Unfortunately, overuse of chemotherapy can lead to chemoresistance to specific chemotherapeutic agents. For instance, late-stage colorectal cancer is treated with oxaliplatin. On the other hand, overuse of these drugs may result in colorectal cancer cells resistant to oxaliplatin. Fortunately, some substances could solve this issue, namely quercetin and levan. In this research, the methodology used is cell viability assay by MTT towards HCT116, a software to determine the synergistic effect for the drug combinations, cell cycle, and apoptosis analysis using flowcytometry to detect the staining molecule as well as western blot. It turns out quercetin and levan show a synergistic effect and improve cell death compared to the control as well as quercetin, it modulates the function of p53, cleavage of PARP, and a possible cleavage of caspase-3 keywords: exopolysaccharides, plant flavonoids chemoresistance,colorectal canceren_US
