Abstract: | This report summarizes a total of 2 months of internship project at the Faculty of Science, Mahidol University, Thailand. This internship project takes place in the science department more specifically in the organic chemistry laboratory. During this internship, the authors tried to synthesize and investigate the intermediates of kusunokinin to enhance its anticancer activity. Kusunokinin intermediates are synthetic compounds that have a structure similar to kusunokinin but not the same as natural products because the authors use Vanillin as a starting material. Due to limited time, the synthesis has not been completed, but the authors carried out 4 methods to synthesize the intermediates of kusunokinin, namely alkylation, stobe condensation, hydrogenation, and cyclization. The continuation of this research will test the anticancer efficacy against breast cancer cells in other laboratories that are not in the author's laboratory |
