The Role of Environmental Awareness Towards Generation Z’s Green Purchase Intention in Indonesia: Planned Behavior Theory

Title: The Role of Environmental Awareness Towards Generation Z’s Green Purchase Intention in Indonesia: Planned Behavior Theory
Authors: Tanto, Verlyn Angelica
Abstract: In recent years, the cosmetic industry in Indonesia has experienced a sustainable growth
due to the emergence of both new local and established brands with strong reputations. Among
all, Generation Z represents the predominant demographic shaping the trajectory of the beauty
industry in Indonesia. However, the majority of conventional cosmetics have limited regard
towards the environmental impact. To mitigate further impacts, concerted efforts are needed to
enhance consumers’ interest in green cosmetics to protect the environment. As a result, the
trend of using and seeking for natural cosmetics are in noticeable surge, but green cosmetics
consumption remains relatively low. In this research, the researcher aims to find out the role of
environmental awareness towards green cosmetics purchase intention (GCPI). Theory of
Planned Behavior (TPB) is implemented as a conceptual framework to elucidate the purchasing
intention for green cosmetics, followed by environmental awareness, willingness to pay, health
consciousness and green marketing. The novelty of the analysis is mainly Generation Z
consumers who buy and use cosmetics, living in the Greater Area of Jakarta (Jabodetabek). The
data collection was done through an online questionnaire that was distributed to social media
platforms. The research was conducted from May until June of 2024. With a quantitative
method, the collected data will be calculated using SmartPLS 4 software and analyzed using
statistical techniques based on variance through partial least squares (PLS). This research results
will help the government, enterprises, and scholars with the understanding of green consumer
purchase intention that encourages environmentally friendly products consumption and equip
them into agents of positive change in their purchasing intention and behavior by prioritizing
environmental protections.

Title: The Effect of Green Supply Chain Management towards Organizational Sustainability Performance in Indonesia: Mediating Role of Operational Performance
Authors: Dewanto, Nicholas Brian
Abstract: Green supply chain management has been a popular approach for many businesses to respond to
many environmental issues, such as climate change, loss of biodiversity, resource depletion,
greenhouse emissions, and climate change. This research aims to explore the effects of supply
chain management on organizational sustainability performance and how it affects the products
produced by the manufacturing industry in Indonesia. In response to current customer trends
toward sustainability products, businesses are expected to implement green practices within their
practices in order to reduce the environmental impacts of their products and operations. This
research will employ online questionnaires that will be sent out to manufacturing businesses
operating in Indonesia specifically in the Jabodetabek area, aiming to gather at least 193
respondents in order to collect the necessary information to conduct the research. SEM-PLS will
be used to validate the data, resulting in a reliable outcome. This study is expected to provide value
to the industry, theories, and government.

Title: The Impact of Korean Idol Related’s Characteristics Towards Customers’ Purchase Intention in Indonesia: The Mediating Role of Idol as Human Brand Attachment
Authors: Yulianti, Novi
Abstract: Customer purchase intention is important to understand and analyze target customers’
preferences as it relates to their desire on purchasing a product. In Indonesia, the popularity of
Korean Pop and Dramas impacts many Indonesian women which leads them to imitate and
imply Korean cultures in their daily life after gaining attachment to their idols. Due the fact that
fans would likely imitate their idols, which leads to a high consumptive behavior, the current
research aims to analyze the impact of Korean idols’ characteristics and attachment towards the
product purchase intention in Indonesia. The novelty of this study is indicated by focusing its
respondents to Indonesian people which has not been discussed by many researchers on earlier
studies regarding this topic. This study also implemented Social Identity Theory to understand
fans’ behavior. In this study, a quantitative survey was applied using a questionnaire to gather
data aiming a minimum 193 responses from K-Pop fans residing in the Greater Jakarta region,
aged between 15-35 years old, and have an interest in products that are related to Korean Idol.
The data collected were validated using PLS-SEM. This study also aims to help the creative
business industry, government, and future research to gain further insights regarding the
problems and examine aspects which are beneficial to increase the purchase intention of
potential customers of Indonesian businesses.

The Effect of Green Human Resource Management and Corporate Social Responsibility on Sustainability Performance in Indonesia: The Mediation Role of Organizational Citizenship Behavior towards the Environment

Title: The Effect of Green Human Resource Management and Corporate Social Responsibility on Sustainability Performance in Indonesia: The Mediation Role of Organizational Citizenship Behavior towards the Environment
Authors: Josefano, Gregory Bertly
Abstract: The widespread trend of global industrialization in Indonesia has resulted in the depletion of natural
resources and environmental destruction. Indonesia has been undergoing recent changes in accordance
with the 2030 agenda to potentially achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and reduce carbon
footprint. The pivotal role of an organization’s Human Resource (HR) Department in cultivating
sustainability in numerous sectors has yet to be investigated in emerging economies such as Indonesia.
The current study aimed to explore the mediating role of Organizational Citizenship Behavior towards
the Environment (OCBE) in the relationship between Green Human Resources Management (GHRM),
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and Sustainable Performance (economic, social, and
environmental performance). This study also contributes to the ability motivation opportunity theory. A
quantitative questionnaire research design was employed, and structured questionnaires divided into
four sections were utilized to gather data. The sample of this study comprised individuals residing in
Indonesia, aged between 20 and 43, with work experience at a managerial level. Smart partial least
squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was employed for data analysis. The results
demonstrated that the instrument was both reliable and valid, meeting all standard criteria for average
variance extracted, composite/construct reliability, factor loadings, and alpha values. The structural
models indicated that all hypotheses, with the exception of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
positively affecting Sustainable Performance, were supported. Consequently, it was concluded that
Organizational Citizenship Behavior towards the Environment (OCBE) significantly mediated the
relationship between Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Green Human Resource Management
(GHRM) practices. The novelty of this study is emphasized by its focus on leveraging corporate social
responsibility and green human resources management practices to improve sustainable performance in
Indonesia by fostering organizational citizenship behavior towards the environment.
